The groups listed below are associated with the Church. However, the Church is also used by a number of groups who are not affiliated to the Church so if you have an inquiry please see our booking form for details.
Praise and Prayer 8.00pm on the first Wednesday evening of the month This is an opportunity for people to meet together to praise God and to pray to Him. Mark Coventry above, one of our Deacons, suggests some of the subjects for the evening many of which are illustrated by video slides or are included in prayers. Playmates Toddler Group 9:30 - 11:00 am - Tuesdays term-time only. For pre-school children and their carers. A friendly atmosphere with toys and activities, coffee and chat. Mid Week Fellowship Groups - Wednesday morning fortnightly (10.30am), Wednesday evening (8pm) and Thursday morning fortnightly (10.30am) These occur at different venues and at different times during the week, if you would like to join one please either leave a message on 01494 712479, email the church on holmergreenbaptistchurch@gmail.com or talk to one of the deacons after the Sunday morning service. Pop-In Lunch 12:30pm - 1st and 3rd Wednesday in the month A light lunch of soup followed by baked potatoes or ploughman's (depending on the season) with tea or coffee is served on the first and third Wednesdays of the month (except August). As the name implies, anyone can pop in to any lunch without pre-booking but please be at the church by 12:30 as lunch is served promptly. There is a small charge for the lunch (currently £3). Time 4 God 11:15am - 1st Wednesday in the month On the first Wednesday of each month (except August) there is a 45 minute traditional service in the church. This includes hymns, prayers, the Lord's prayer, a Bible reading and a short talk and is followed by coffee. Many who attend this then stay and enjoy a pop-in lunch. Women's Fellowship 2:15pm fortnightly on Thursdays Members and friends meet in the hall on alternate Thursdays to share in Christian fellowship together. There is often an outside speaker or themed talk and always tea afterwards. Anyone is welcome. The Church is the starting point for this way of enjoying better health. Enjoy a Monday morning in the fresh air walking in our local countryside and meeting new friends. Recommended by local GPs there are three grades of walk : First Footers (20mins); Village Walk (45mins); and Step It Out (approx 1 hour). Starting point each week is to meet at the Church at 10.15am for a 10.30am start. After the walks there is time for socialising with a friendly cup of tea in the Church hall : All are welcome.
